Please join us on one of our field trips to learn more about our group while we tour historical homes, museums, gardens, and landmarks. We also meet monthly at different locations, based on that month's theme.

THE QUESTERS, a nonprofit 501 c3 organization, started in 1944 when Jessie Elizabeth " Bess" Bardens passed an antique store on her lunch break and bought a syrup pitcher. When she returned to the office, she placed it on the corner of her desk. Many co-workers stopped to speak with her about it and expressed their desire to learn more. From this group, other local clubs or chapters were formed to provide a small venue for learning about one's collections and those of fellow members. In its over 75-year history it has grown from a small, loosely knit group of study clubs to an incorporated international historical preservation & restoration an educational organization with current chapters in 38 States and 2 Canadian Provinces.
How many times do we pass a location, where there was once a beautiful old house, or a building with historical significance , that has been torn down and replaced? Historical societies across New Jersey work hard to keep history alive by preserving old homes and artifacts for the benefit of future generations. THE QUESTERS support many different preservation and restoration projects across the United States and Canada.
With a strong desire to see that the best of American and Canadian heritage is preserved for future generations, THE QUESTERS seek to educate by research and study of antiques and to donate funds to the preservation and restoration of artifacts, existing memorials, historic buildings, landmarks and for educational purposes. THE QUESTERS work on approved projects selected by each chapter.
There are so many ways to support our mission. Contact us to find out more about our chapter and join us for our next meeting.
